I’m different. I always have been.
I have built a fair few auto-blogs over time because I really liked the “automated” part of Internet Marketing, but with just a little additional work (which most people are not willing to do), the auto-blog can perform even better.
Here’s What I Did
I allowed my auto-blog software (WP Robot – cheapest price here) to pull in the auto-generated content as posts, but I actually hid those posts on the backend of my blog … I mean I didn’t show the “recent posts” in the sidebar of my blog (I didn’t want the auto-posts to be available en masse to the visitor – see below).
As far as I was concerned, the function of those ‘auto-posts’ on my sites was mainly just to keep my blog fresh by adding new content each day. You need to make sure though that you mix up the content on your posts so that Google sees them as “unique” – I personally achieved this with my WP Robot Templates and Easy Spin Intro – this combination certainly made my posts “unique” in Google’s eyes as my earnings kept increasing month-on-month.
I monetized the ‘auto-posts’ with Adsense and Amazon.
So What Did I Put In The Sidebar
I had my writer create 3 pages for me initially … I called these my “money pages” … these are what I added to the sidebar and these were monetized just with Adsense.
If the sites’ Adsense earnings start to increase, I then get more “money pages” created. Etc. Etc.
What About The Amazon Earnings?
To keep my Amazon earnings alive, I also placed some Amazon text links in various widgets so that they appeared on all the pages/posts of my blogs, i.e you can place them in the Header, Footer, and below your content via text widgets very easily if you use the free Semio Reloaded theme (highly recommended).
Why Did I Do Things This Way?

Earn More From Adsense And Amazon
Simple … because it’s very easy to earn from Adsense, especially via well-written unique content that should rank well if you’ve done your keyword homework correctly.
My visitors tended to arrive on my sites via my front pages or “money pages” … they then only had the option of clicking on an Adsense ad or clicking on an Amazon text link (i.e “Get The Best Prices Here On XYZ”) … this dropped the Amazon cookie to their computer and you got paid whatever they bought in the next 24 hours.
The smaller percentage of traffic that arrived via a long-tail keyword on an auto-blog post, didn’t see any more of the auto-posts (they were hidden remember) … the visitor only had the option of clicking through to Amazon, clicking on an Adsense ad, or clicking on a “money page”.
I didn’t really want the visitor to do all their product- research on my site … I just wanted them to click on an Adsense ad or I wanted to get them over to Amazon as quickly as possible for the reasons already given (I didn’t mind which, really).
This methodology saw my Adsense and Amazon earnings rise dramatically. Why not give it a try on one of your sites to see how it works for you?
EDIT: Auto-blogging is a great way to build up your business, but once you start to earn some decent and regular money, my best advice would be for you to start to create web sites that only contain unique content.
