My first 10 to 20 sites were crap – there’s no better way to express that – in my first six months doing Internet Marketing, I didn’t make any money!
My dreams of becoming an Internet Marketer were rapidly evaporating. But instead of cutting and running, I decided to spend the next week or so finding out exactly why my sites earned nothing, with the intention of then formulating a plan to ensure that my next 10 to 20 sites didn’t go the same way.
I found out quite a few things such as:
I didn’t know my keywords were competitive keywords!
I didn’t know some of my keywords were seasonal keywords!
I was misreading/misinterpreting/ignoring the keyword search data!
…and much more.
It was no wonder my sites were not earning any money!
I reeled from the shock. Basically, the sites I had built looked damn good, but they never stood any chance of earning any money at all – and to make matters worse, as a newbie who knew no better at the time, I had registered my domains for 2 years!!
So, I devised a plan to put the odds of owning successful sites more in my favor, and since then I have refined my approach even more – this plan has made a HUGE difference to my earnings and enabled me to leave 2 JOBS well behind me and become a full-time Internet Marketer after only 11 months.
Below is a screenshot of just my Adsense earnings from December 2010 where I earned almost $4400 (the calculations are based on Google reckoning £60 = $100 and the data is blacked out to conform to Google’s TOS).
… oh, and by the way, in November 2009 I earned a paltry $212!!
You’d be amazed at how simple the process is, and you may even know much of what I’m going to tell you, but if you’re not really earning money yet, then you are not correctly using the knowledge that you have!
